Gingerbread Tea Canister

Hi guys, and welcome back!

One of my favorite, favorite things at Christmas time is
Celestial Seasonings Gingerbread Tea!  Oh my goodness....it tastes like someone just dissolved a cookie in my cup (but without the mushy nastiness that a cookie would leave!) hahaha
Truly, if you like gingerbread, give it a try!  No, they don't pay me to say that, but when I find something I can get behind, I'm gonna share!  Although, I will say that I have had a VERY hard time finding this year!  Fortunately for me, love stepped in and ordered me some online! 2 boxes!!  I'm a happy, happy girl !!
Thank you, Kris...I love you so!

Ok, so, now that I have my tea bags, and because they will sit out on my counter within easy reach, I needed something to store them in!
Another friend had brought us some cookies recently in a plastic canister (We love you, McAllister Family!) and because I'm me, well...I can't throw anything away!

I decided to repurpose it!
Below, you'll see the canister, which I measured and it came to about 5 1/2" tall.  I pulled some red stripe scrapbook paper (I found this at Joann's and I usually stock up when they have their 10/$2 sale!  Watch for it !)  and I cut pieces to fit.

I used my double-sided tape to attach it to the canister.
Since it's plastic, it held nicely!

Next, I pulled this really sweet Christmas paper and cut it at 3" to form a "band" because I still wanted to see some stripes above and below it.  I attached it with double-sided tape as well!

Then, it became about embellishments!
I had this lace in my stash, and couldn't help myself, I had to use it!

The gingerbread coaster, wooden heart, and black ribbon were all from my stash!  I didn't take pics of me applying it, because, you guys are smart and know that I just hot glued everything on!  I handwrote the wording on the heart, and added a little bling!

This is one of those projects that lends itself to pretty much anything! Use whatever you like to cover it, whether it's scrapbook paper, wrapping paper, fabric, whatever!
Make it your own to match your decor!

I had a lot of fun with this, and I love how it looks on my counter keeping my teabags fresh and handy!

If you make one, please come to my Facebook page:
and post a picture!  I'd love to see what you make!

As always, you have blessed with me your presence!
I am grateful and YOU are loved!

Until next time and with my heart,

Tea Set is done !!! ;)

Mia's Tea Set

Ok, so, I've finally finished the tea set !! You know, I tried to figure out how long it would take if I could've sat down and worked right through it, and I think it's going to be an excellent "weekend" project for someone !!!  Someone could easily 'hammer' this out in 2 days....however, because I have a 19 mo. old, and could only work on it during naps and such....yeah, it took me almost 2 weeks !!! LOL  But, that's ok !!
I will come back later on (hopefully tonight) to write up the entire tutorial step by step (including pics) for those of you who want to make one for your Princess...but for now, here is what the completed set looks like !!!  :)  Clicking on each pic, will take you to a larger image !!
P.S...I didn't have a pattern, so I had to make one up....please, be kind....LOLOL  ;)
Grazie e Ciao !
